Siem Reap, Cambodia — weekly meetups for travelers, expats & locals

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 7, 2026

Siem Reap Social Club (“we”, “us”) is a volunteer-run community in Siem Reap, Cambodia. This website, siemreapsocial.com, exists to tell you about the club and point you to our meetups. We keep things simple — including how we handle your information.

What we collect

This website has no user accounts, no comment forms and no newsletter sign-up. We do not ask you for personal information to browse it. Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are not used to identify you and are retained only as long as the hosting provider’s standard practice requires.

Cookies

We do not run advertising and we do not sell data. The site may set a small number of technical cookies needed for it to function. If we add analytics in the future to understand which pages are useful, we will update this policy first.

Fonts on this site are served in a way that does not require you to be tracked by third-party font services wherever possible.

Links to WhatsApp and Facebook

Our community lives on WhatsApp and Facebook, and this site links out to both. When you join our WhatsApp group or interact with our Facebook page and events, those platforms process your data under their own privacy policies (Meta Platforms, Inc. operates both). Joining the WhatsApp group makes your phone number visible to other group members — as with any WhatsApp group — so join with whatever number you’re comfortable sharing.

Photos at events

We sometimes take photos at meetups for our Facebook page and this website. If you’d rather not appear in photos, tell any organiser at the event — no explanation needed — and if you spot a published photo of yourself you’d like removed, message our Facebook page and we’ll take it down.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you (usually: none beyond what you’ve shared on our social channels), ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. We’ll act on any reasonable request as quickly as we can.

Contact

For anything related to this policy, email us at hi@siemreapsocial.com or message the Siem Reap Social Club page on Facebook — a real person reads both and will get back to you.
